These cushions feature simple Gel-Tec technology “column buckling” an engineering principle incorporated in the cushion structure, which allows for weight to be shared with neighbouring column walls.
The cushion design greatly enhances seating comfort as these column walls are designed to fail or buckle in areas of greatest pressure or pressure points. No other seating material offers such technology. It’s the original “Technology of comfort” for the workplace.
Its better than foam…….It’s secret is its ‘molecular flow’
The unique polymer gel molecular structure allows it to behave differently under pressure than foam, springs or fibrous material. In foam, the tiny cells compress under pressure. Compressed cells eventually go flat and the foam cushion becomes useless. The revolutionary ultra-soft polymer material and cushion design causes sitting pressure to flow away from areas of greatest pressure, reducing pain and discomfort. The result is improved seating comfort for longer periods of time.
Soft, Comfortable and Healthy cushion
Fivesquared offer you a totally new concept in superior cushioning properties because unlike foam or air cushions, this material rebounds 100%!
Our cushions will not stain or stick to surfaces, will not absorb odours or liquids and does not foster bacterial growth. They are machine washable and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Vibration reducing seat cushions, perfect vibration management for tractor drivers, construction workers, earth moving operatives, off road plant and machinery operatives, bus drivers, forklift truck drivers and long distance lorry drivers.

To effectively manage, monitor and control vibration exposure it is advisable to implement a system for recording the time that operators spend using tools, or carrying out operations, involving Vibration exposure.
However because the exposure time is not a directly proportional to the daily vibration exposure value (or A (8) value)-(doubling the time does not double the A(8) value)-this can be difficult to manage, especially when an operator uses two or more different tools in one day.

| For The Employer: |
| • | Can the job be done without using high Vibration tools? |
| • | Make sue that new tools have vibration control built in. |
| • | Modify existing tools to reduce vibration levels or the grip force needed. |
| • | Use tools with high power to weight ratio. |
| • | Ensure tools are regularly maintained to a high standard. |
| • | Refrain from using worn out tools. |
| • | Re-route air exhaust away from the operators hands (Pneumatic tools). |
| • | Arrange work to give the operator breaks away from vibration (e.g. Job rotation). |
| • | Training in the correct use of tools (and in using the right tool for the job) and in recognizing the early symptoms of Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS). |
| • | Arrange advice and routine health checks for employees using high vibration tools. |
| • | Assist operators to keep warm in cold weather (e.g. by providing heating or suitable clothing and gloves. |
|
| For The Employee: |
| • | Report any tools or processes to your supervisor which produce high levels of vibration, so consideration can be given to reducing the risk. |
| • | Ask your employer if the job can be done in a different way without using vibrating tools. |
| • | Co-Operate with any new working methods introduced to reduce the risk. |
| • | Use low vibration tools whenever possible. |
| • | Always use the right tool for the job, and store tools properly. |
| • | Check tools before use to ensure that they are properly maintained and repaired. |
| • | Make sure cutting tools are kept sharp, and grinding wheels are in balance. |
| • | Reduce the time spent in continuous use of the tools, by doing other jobs in between. |
| • | Avoid gripping or forcing the tool more than necessary and wherever possible use different grips. |
| • | Encourage good blood circulation by:- |
|
| - | Keeping warm and dry. |
| - | Avoid smoking before and during work. |
| - | Exercising your hands and fingers to improve blood flow. |
|
| • | Learn and recognize the signs of vibration injury, and report any symptoms to your employer. |
| • | Provide tool support to take the weight of the tool. |
|
|
The key factor in the prevention of HAVS is the ability to measure and monitor individual daily/weekly exposure to vibration in specific working environments. With a HAV management system from Fivesquared you can protect your workforce.

| For The Employer: |
| • | Can the job be done without using high vibration vehicles? |
| • | Make sue that new tools have vibration control built in. |
| • | Modify existing vehicles and/or seating to reduce vibration levels. |
| • | Use vehicles suitable for the operational task. |
| • | Ensure vehicles and seating are regularly maintained to a high standard. |
| • | Arrange work to give the operator breaks from vibration (e.g. job rotation). |
| • | Training in the correct use of vehicles & plant (and in using the right vehicle for the job) and in recognizing the effects of Whole Body Vibration (WBV). |
| • | Arrange advice and routine health monitoring for employees using high vibration vehicles and/or plant. |
| • | Assist operators to keep warm in cold weather (e.g. by providing heating or suitable clothing and gloves.) |
|
| For The Employee: |
| • | Report any vehicles or plant to your supervisor, which produce high levels of vibration, so consideration can be given to reducing the risk. |
| • | Ask your employer if the job can be done in a different way without using high vibration producing vehicles. |
| • | Co-operate with any new working methods introduced to reduce the risk. |
| • | Use low vibration vehicles and plant whenever possible. |
| • | Always use the right vehicle for the job. |
| • | Check vehicles before use to ensure that they are properly maintained and repaired. Pay particular attention to tyre pressures. |
| • | Check vehicles seating is in good condition, adjusted to the driver/operators weigh, and that controls are within easy reach. |
| • | Reduce the time spent in continuous use of vehicle, by doing other jobs in between. |
| • | Avoid high speeds over rough terrain, and potholes and surface defects which could produce shocks or jolts. |
| • | Encourage good blood circulation by:- |
|
| - | Keeping warm and dry. |
| - | Avoid smoking before and during work. |
| - | Exercising your hands and fingers to improve blood flow. |
|
| • | Learn and recognize the causes and signs of vibration injury, and report any signs to your employer. |
